Anti-inflammatory Diet
What the heck is an anti-inflammatory diet? No one is inflamed or sore all the time are they? Why bother with this and what the heck is it.
An anti-inflammatory diet will help those who are prone to them lower the risk of disease such as lupus, arthritis and even diabetes.
The anti-inflammatory diet isn’t made to help you lose weight its designed to help you prevent those illnesses by lowering the amounts of food that you take in which cause inflammation in the body, but while you’re at it, you’re probably going to end up losing weight.
Eating what are known as meals which are low-glycemic-load means you’re going to take off some pounds in the bargain. You’re going to be eating leaner proteins, better fats, fruits and vegetables that have a lot of fiber as well as drinking a good amount of water every day so that means you’re going to increase your metabolic rate and very likely burn away your fat instead of processing it and storing it as weight.
Taking in an anti inflammatory diet will give you a healthier rate of the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. One of these little guys you want, and the other you just don’t’, if you’re trying to fight inflammation. Things like vegetable shortening, margarine, vegetable oils all promote inflammation in the body.
Carbs may also help to increase the inflammation in your body so we’re going to lower those
by eating less of certain kinds such as bread, white potatoes, crackers and potato chips, and steering clear of fast foods.
Add to that you’re going to eat more whole wheat, more beans, more yellow vegetables such as squash, sweet potatoes and things like apples, cherries and pears, while keeping away from mango and papaya type fruits.
Stay into lower fat meats and if you select fish, get the kind that is oilier such as salmon and herring to promote the lowered inflammation of the body systems. If you look over the entire diet, you’re going to see clearly why it will help you to lose weight as well as lower the inflammation in your body.
