If you have at least a week then there are ways to make sure you look your best on you wedding day. Here are some simple tips that can greatly help and a five day meal plan that will help you look slim and fantastic on you big day.</p>
<p>• Less sugar – This can be tricky, make sure if preparing food yourself that you are not adding extra sugar and always check the labels of the ingredients you are using for sugar content.</p>
<p>• More water – Water is great for helping to lose and will also help make your skin more radiant. A simple math equation can help you determine how much water your body will need for optimum weight loss – divide your weight and that will give you how much water you should intake daily in ounces.</p>
<p>• Exercise – Try to keep as active as possible and to exercise regularly. Cardio exercise works the best here whether jogging or aerobics, whatever works best for you.</p>
<p>• Cut the carbs – Literally, cut down your carbohydrates as much as possible or if you are able to cut them out completely.</p>
<p>• Sleep – Make sure that you are getting enough sleep, this will help reduce the look of fatigue and will help your body burn calories.</p>
<h2><strong>Five day meal plan</strong></h2>
<p>The five day meal plan can work wonders in a short time. The meals suggested here will help you lose a little weight but will also reduce bloating, giving the illusion that you have lost even more weight, definitely worth it if you want to look perfect on your wedding day.</p>
<h2><strong>Breakfast</strong></h2>
<p>• <strong>No1. </strong>Chopped melon and strawberries – 300g combined strawberries and melon (chopped) and low fat yogurt (approx. 200g). Dress the fruit with the low fat yogurt, a perfect healthy and light breakfast.</p>
<p>• <strong>No2.</strong> Blended breakfast smoothie – 1 peach, 100g of strawberries, skimmed milk (approx. 100g), and 1 spoon of oat bran and a handful of walnuts. Blender required.</p>
<p>• <strong>No3.</strong> Eggs and tomatoes on toast – Handful of cherry tomatoes, 2 eggs and 1 slice of multigrain bread. Fry tomatoes and eggs to liking and serve on toast.</p>
<p>• <strong>No4.</strong> Raspberry ricotta wrap – 1 wheat tortilla, handful of raspberries, 100g ricotta, 12g toasted almonds. Roll tightly and fold one end.</p>
<p>• <strong>No5.</strong> Boiled eggs with sourdough toast – 2 eggs, 1 slice of toast, small amount of spread. Serve eggs sliced on toast.</p>
<h2><strong>Lunch</strong></h2>
<p>• <strong>No1.</strong> Crudités and hummus – 100g of low fat hummus, bundle of crudités and 1 wholemeal pita. Prepare pita and slice to dip with crudités.</p>
<p>• <strong>No2.</strong> Tuna and anchovy salad – Dressing of lemon juice, 1 pita bread, 1 tsp of water, 1 tsp of olive oil, 1 tsp of vinegar, 3 chopped anchovies, chopped lettuce &#038; cucumber, 100g of tuna and a couple of olives. Mix and serve as salad.</p>
<p>• <strong>No3.</strong> Sweet potato ricotta – Block of cucumber &#038; spring onion, 100g ricotta and 200g sweet potato. Pre heat oven to 180C and bake sweet potato for 45mins. Open and fill.</p>
<p>• <strong>No4.</strong> Avocado and turkey warp – Tortilla, watercress, chopped chilli, chopped spring onion, 2 tomatoes (chopped), 100g turkey breast and 65g chopped avocado. Place ingredients and fold wrap tight.</p>
<p>• <strong>No5.</strong> Crab sandwich – 100g fresh crab, chilli sauce, horseradish, mustard, parsley, lemon juice and 1 spring onion. Mix all ingredients and use as a pate for toast.</p>
<h2><strong>Dinner</strong></h2>
<p>• <strong>No1.</strong> Mackerel and fennel salad – Slice 1 fennel bulb and 2 spring onions. 60g low fat yogurt, 1 tsp of lemon juice, 150g new potatoes, 1 egg, 100g mackerel fillet. Season mackerel and grill for 3 minutes a side. Fry fennel for approx. 5 minutes. Poach 1 egg and mix all the ingredients together in a bowl with salad and place poached egg on top.</p>
<p>• <strong>No2.</strong> Haddock in lime – Fresh haddock fillet (140g), 25g of peas, chopped chives, wholegrain rice and fresh lime juice. Marinate the haddock in lime for 15 minutes and then grill haddock to your liking. Boil rice and serve together with peas and chives sprinkled on top.</p>
<p>• <strong>No3.</strong> Fillet of steak – Fillet steak, 1 slice of sourdough bread, watercress, and garlic clove, 1 sliced tomato, mustard and pickled cucumber. Grill steak to your liking and serve together with all other ingredients as a bruschetta.</p>
<p>• <strong>No4.</strong> Chicken (poached) with mange tout – 50g mange tout, 150g chicken breast, chicken stock, pinch of fennel seeds, lemon zest and a portion of new potatoes. Bring stock and fennel seeds to a simmer in a small pan and add the chicken and lemon zest. Poach chicken until cooked and boil new potatoes, follow up with lightly grilling the chicken.</p>
<p>• <strong>No5.</strong> Red onion and courgette omelette – 2 eggs, sliced courgette, 3 tomatoes and portion of red onion. Lightly fry courgettes and onion then add to omelette as you would normally.</p>

<p>Now, apart from controlling your diet you will need to exercise. The first type of exercise you will need to do is cardiovascular exercise (cardio). The main benefit of cardio workouts when trying to lose love handles is that first of all you’re getting healthier which will lead to more energy when exercising. The second reason for cardio exercise is that it is extremely effective at burning off fat. Unfortunately it isn’t possible to target specific areas of fat when doing cardio exercise; this is where you will need to step it up.</p>

<p>• Less alcohol – It should be no surprise to anyone who drinks alcohol that alcohol is extremely fattening and the fat produced by alcohol will go straight onto your lower abdomen. Tyr to stop drinking or cut down.</p>
<p>• Exercise – The best way of losing weight is simple exercise. This can even be as simple as walking more often say to your local shops or your workplace, every little bit of effort counts.</p>

<p>There is a vast array of ‘fad’ diets currently making the rounds, especially diets linked to celebrity’s &#8211; often used to slim down for a particular roll in a film when a deadline for filming needs to be adhered to. The fact that these ‘fad’ diets are used by celebrities immediately gets the public’s attention and gives the ‘fad’ diets an air of validity, but is this really the case?</p>
<p>The case of the ‘fad’ diet is a lot like the exercise regimes some actors use to gain a certain physique for a specific film role. For example take the film ‘300’ starring Gerard Butler, it is well known that the actors adhered to a brutal training regime to gain their amazing physiques however the training regime used is not recommended for long term use and was only used short term for the film role because it would literally cripple the actors if used long term. The same is true of ‘fad’ diets, some do work with great effects however they are short term and a lot are very bad for your health. It’s also worth noting that because the weight is burnt off quickly it is very easy to put the weight back on.</p>
<h2><strong>So, do Fad Diets actually work?</strong></h2>
<p>The short answer is that yes some do work and some don’t. The main issue is if the ‘fad’ diet works you need to take into account the health issues that using these unique ways to lose weight will inflict on your body. Any celebrity will say, in the case of both brutal exercise and ‘fad’ diets used for film roles that these methods should not be used for general weight loss because of the health implications, these actors and actresses will not use these methods when getting in shape normally, they will use healthy options that are good for the body and in case of weight loss it’s a fairly slow process if you want to actually keep the weight off afterwards.</p>

To be successful you will need to take these two points into consideration. The first, do not starve yourself – doing so will lower your metabolism meaning that you will be less effective at burning calories, eat healthily and often to lose weight. The second point is to choose a diet in which you will lose weight slowly over time, fad diets may get the weight off but it will come back fast, slow burning diets on the other hand mean that once you have reached your goal it will take equally as long to put the weight back on.</p>
<h2><strong>Post diet tips</strong></h2>
<p>Even after completing your diet it can still be difficult to keep the weight off, here are some tips:</p>
<p>•	Water – Drink a couple of waters a day, this is a good start as water is essential for a healthy body and acts as a mild appetite suppressant.</p>
<p>•	Low fat diet – You need to maintain a healthy low fat diet but don’t be too hard on yourself as you could end up giving up out of annoyance.</p>
<p>•	Breakfast – A healthy breakfast is absolutely essential, it will stop you over eating at lunch and will also kick start your metabolism so you start burning calories as early as possible.</p>
<p>•	Hunger prevention – Don’t let yourself get too hungry, make sure to eat regularly to avoid eating big amounts when ‘starving’.</p>
<p>•	I’m full – Try not to eat until you are stuffed, eat enough to feel full but do not eat what’s on the plate just for the sake.</p>
<p>•	Exercise – Regular exercise 3 times a week works great to keep weight off, even if only for 30mins try to do cardio or aerobics.</p>
<p>•	Don’t skip meals – Eat three meals a day at set times, this helps control your hunger and stops you from getting cravings or feeling hungry seemingly at random.</p>
<p>•	Weighing scales – A powerful motivational asset, weighing yourself everyday will help you keep on top and stop the weight piling on.</p>
<p>•	Alcohol – Avoid drinking too much alcohol too often as alcohol gives you cravings which will lead you to eat much more unhealthily than normal.</p>
<p>•	Weight loss journal – Keeping a diary of your weight loss progress works well for motivation and helps you set clear targets whilst reflecting on what you have achieved.</p>
<p>•	Support – If you are really struggling then consider joining a support group. You will get motivational help and you will gel with people who are all in the same position as yourself.</p>
<p>If you stick to these tips and take your post diet commitments seriously then you should be able to keep the weight off. It may be hard at first you after a while it will become the norm and you will be a much healthier person.</p>

It’s not that these foods literally burn fat but rather that you will burn more calories from eating the food than you would gain. Here is a rundown of these different foods and what other health benefits you can get from them.<br />
Berries</p>
<p>There is a massive variety of berries available and they are great as a snack or even better, you can substitute sweet ingredients in food to make a healthier dish while still getting a sweet taste.</p>
<p>•	Blackberries – Great for snacking, an average cup of blackberries contains around 80 calories making them a real treat.<br />
•	Blueberries – Offering around the same calories as blackberries but with a distinct shaper taste.<br />
•	Cranberries – Great for snacking and for using in roast meat dishes. A powerful antioxidant.<br />
•	Currants – Jam packed with vitamin C, great for using in cereal and oatmeal.<br />
•	Strawberries – Extremely low in calories, only around 50 in an average cup.<br />
•	Raspberries – Weighing in at around 60 calories per average cup perfect for a snack.<br />
•	Grapes – Offering a great variety, an average cup of grapes is only around 60 calories, and they’re delicious.</p>
<p><strong>Seafood</strong></p>
<p>You can’t lose with seafood, low in calories, low in fat and very healthy.</p>
<p>•	Cod – Very tasty and filling, extremely low in fat.<br />
•	Flounder – Slightly rarer than cod but equally low in fat, try for a change of taste.<br />
•	Oysters – Literally a health buffet, oysters are packed with vitamins such as calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin C and vitamin D.<br />
•	Shrimp – Brilliant for weight loss as shrimps contain zero calories however they are fairly high in cholesterol.<br />
•	Tuna – Low in calories and low in fat, tuna is also full of omega-3 for an added health bonus.</p>
<p><strong>Vegetables </strong></p>
<p>Probably the most obvious choice, vegetables are great when controlling your diet in the aim to lose weight. The most beneficial choice of serving is to eat them raw or steamed.<br />
•	Asparagus – Jam packed full of vitamins A &#038; C and even tastes fantastic raw.<br />
•	Broccoli – Full of vitamin C and high in fibre which is essential for a fluid digestive system.<br />
•	Brussels sprouts – Essentially the same benefits as broccoli but with added vitamin A. Great for the digestive system but an acquired taste.<br />
•	Cauliflower – Proven to have cancer preventing properties, cauliflower is also very fibrous and full of vitamins.<br />
•	Celery – One of the most potent fat burners, celery is multipurpose and can be eaten raw or cooked in many dishes.<br />
•	Green peppers – Full of vitamins A &#038; C green peppers are extremely handy are you can easily grow them in your home garden.<br />
•	Kohlrabi – Very low in calories, kohlrabi can be eaten raw of lightly cooked for a different approach.</p>
<p><strong>Healthy snacks</strong></p>
<p>There are other healthy foods that can be eaten as snacks considering you don’t overdo it. These are great to use at weaker moments when your craving something unhealthy.<br />
•	Popcorn – Plain popcorn that is. Great because its low in calories and high in fibre.<br />
•	Nuts – Full of vitamin E and fibre, nuts have many health properties and can even help clear clogged arteries.<br />
•	Beef jerky – Low in calories and very low in fat; just make sure that you buy healthy beef jerky and not the junk food type.<br />
•	Low fat yogurt – A great snack food that tastes nice and can be used many different ways.</p>
<p>With these tips you should have no problems controlling what you eat and keeping it healthy, just make sure that when cooking the ingredients above don’t smother them in high calorie sauces and the like or  you’re just defeating the point!</p>

<p>The last findings regarding chocolate told us that it had the same type of antioxidants that were contained in red wine and flavanoids as well.</p>
<p>These things don&#8217;t raise cholesterol and tend to lower the tackiness of the platelets which means that the blood clots don&#8217;t form as easily and artery blockages are prevented.That&#8217;s definitely good news for all of us chocolate eaters.</p>
<p>Researchers at Athens Medical School of Greece studied 17 healthy people who had volunteered to eat a quarter pound of dark chocolate and then take part in ultrasound testing.  This was done to check how the chocolate would affect the function of the endothelial cells in the walls of the blood vessel.</p>
<p>Normally those cells are the ones that control the blood vessels level of stiffness. What they found was that the days that the volunteers ate their dark chocolate they had vastly improvedendothelial cell function, but those who ate the artificial chocolate did not have improved function.The good effects lasted about 3 hours. This was done several times and the results were repeated each time. The ones who had eaten the darker chocolate were experiencing better function of theendothelial cells that prevented the arteries from becoming brittle.</p>
<p>The medical community finds these interesting but as of yet they just aren&#8217;t sure what they mean. It stands to reason that too much chocolate puts fat on the body and that would negate the entire purpose for eating it but it may be that dark chocolate on a regular basis could help to spell one way to prevent heart disease.</p>
