Gynecomastia is a medical condition that leads to the growth of man boobs by creating imbalanced hormone production in your body resulting in higher levels of estrogen being produced compared to testosterone. Typically men have higher levels of testosterone whilst women have higher levels of estrogen, when this is reversed side effects appear such as man boobs.

Cimetidine is a drug used to treat internal issues such as stomach ulcers and intestinal problems. If you already have gynecomastia but don’t have man boobs then this drug can cause the growth of man boobs and recent research has shown that a man who does not have gynecomastia but is taking cimetidine for medical issues has a one in four chance of developing gynecomastia in turn potentially leading to the growth of man boobs.

A common cause – fat

By far the most common cause of man boobs is simply fat. Being overweight is the biggest cause of man boobs and if you are fortunate enough that this is the case and the formation of man boobs is not medical then you can effectively get rid of your man boobs through a healthy diet, determination and exercise.
